New PJ's ....

Little Lunette did not have any PJ's yet that would keep her warm at night.

We know up here in Canada how cold the nights can be, especially in the winter. 

She will still travel quiet a bit and I'm sure they will come in handy. 

We looked at all my fabrics and our girl picked out a pretty pink and striped one .

 Lunette saw the bunny blankies I make and she really loves them.

They are way too big for her of course and so I made a blankie just for her that she can cuddle with.

Since she has already a bunny I made her a bear.

It's just perfect for her and always by her side!

 Posing for pictures is hard work at times and it was already quiet late so 

sweet Lunette started to head for bed....

 She LOVES that craddle....

 ....and made sure her bear would join her.

There ...they made it!

She looks so contend .

A walk in the woods

Here in Northern Ontario spring is finally coming and then things go fast .

In no time it will be fall and winter again and nature has to get a lot done until then.

We took Lunette for a walk in the woods to show her the a few pretty

 things we have around here right now.

Little Maple leaves unfold on saplings

Trees get blossoms and new leaves.

Lunette saw the yellow flower first.....

It's a Trout Lily!

Oh look, a chipmunk sitting on a log.

Let's be very quiet and watch him!

 I think he was watching us too.

Around the next bend we saw a red /purple flower on the forest floor.

 Lunette can you count the count the leaves?

She got closer and started counting....1....2....3

3 leaves! 

That's a Trillium Lunette, and this one is a red Trillium!

Look there are more of them....

Aren't they pretty?

We saw a little birds nest in a tree as well. 

Maybe it will have baby birds in it soon.

A butterfly was warming up on a tree before flying off in search of flowers.

Close to the end of our walk we stopped for a little rest by this creek. 

It's so nice and peaceful in the woods. 

We all enjoyed it a lot!

Lunette comes to my work..

Today when I went to work I got a big surprise when I opened my backpack.

This little lady hid in my backpack because she wanted to see where I was going.

So I showed her around the store.

She liked all the shiny pots.

I told her about the soda machines we sell and she was really impressed.

We carbonated some water and she tried the ice tea mix.

Lunette liked it.

I had to do some work and she found the new boxes with the popcorn maker that I still had to unpack.

She was really excited about them.

Lunette kept asking me if we could have popcorn, but I had to explain that we would 

have to wait until we get home.

For the rest of the afternoon she just tagged along and ask a lot of questions, but she was really good.

As promised I made her some popcorn and we watched a movie.

She loovvves popcorn!

I think tomorrow we will do some sewing.

A very special day!!!

Today someone very special arrived in our house and guess what ?

It is her birthday today!!!

We got the whole gang together and sang her Happy Birthday !

Of course there was a little cake as well.

Her Moonie cousins sang her an extra special song they must have learned at their moms house.

They are so happy to see her and to hear about home and their mom and all the travels

 she has done already. 

There will be many stories to be told, I'm sure.

Well they sure liked the cake......

This is all that is left.....

It has been a long day for little Lunette and when I checked on her, she was already asleep.

Isn't she too cute?

 I'm so happy to have her visit us and hope Lunette enjoys her stay with us up here in Canada.

A Visit to the Cabbage Patch

You cannot be a special travelling doll visiting the state of Georgia without paying a visit to Babyland General, the birthplace of the Cabbage Patch Dolls.  It is quite an event!

There were so many dolls to look at. 

These are the 1st two dolls made by Mr. Xavier Roberts.  We were told he still hand signs the cloth dolls.  His signature on the dolls' bums is what inspired me to put an apple on my dolls!  Can you see how much they are worth now?  Wowsers.

All of the cloth dolls here are hand made by local artists.

An original Andy Warhol painting hangs in one of the nurseries.  Lots of famous people have visited here over the years.

Anna Ruby

We decided to take Lunette to go and see Anna Ruby.  "Who is Anna Ruby?"  Lunette wondered.  The girls packed her up in the papoose, so she knew we were in for quite a trip! 

And Nanci came along for the ride.  That Nanci, always loves to be in the middle of everything. 

We stopped at a placard and the girls started reading it out loud.  Turns Our Anna Ruby is a waterfall in The north Georgia mountains, near the start of the Chattahoochee River.  "This is going to be so cool!"  Nanci exclaimed.   Lunette just giggled. 

"Is this Anna Ruby Falls?"  Lunette asked.  Nanci giggled.

"Is THIS Anna Ruby Falls?"  Lunette asked again.  The girls said, "No, not yet, we have to climb a
little more."

Lunette was getting really excited.  "IS THIS ANNA RUBY FALLS?!?"  She yelled.  It was getting louder.  "Patience Lunette," the girls answered, "Almost there."

This is Anna Ruby Falls.  Breathtaking. 

Hmmm.... wonder what those two are whispering about?  Wait until they see where we are going next!

A Different Kind of Mountain

There are some interesting things to do in Atlanta.  One of the most unique local attractions is Stone Mountain.  The girls were all excited at the chance to show Lunette something a little different from what she has experienced to date.   "What is a Stone Mountain?" Lunette asked.  "Let me show you," I whispered.... we tucked her in, safe and sound, in our papoose and set off.

"That... is a Stone Mountain!"

It is a large granite mountain.  They say only about 1% of the rock is exposed, the rest is underground.  There is a carving on the front depicting some Civil War generals (this is the Southern U.S. after all!) and they say you can park 3 school buses on the back of General Lee's horse. 

"So, how will we get to the top?  Hike?" Lunette asked from the comfort of her papoose.  We had a surprise for her... we were going to take a ride :)

Did I mention that I hate heights and tiny spaces?  Sigh.  Lunette and the girls were very brave. 

Phew!  Made it to the top...

And boy, what a view!

You can even see part of the Downtown Atlanta skyline.

We played and explored a bit at the top of the mountain, but it was getting cold.  Yes, 55 degrees Fahrenheit is cold in the south.  So it was time to head back down.  Did I mention I hated heights and tiny spaces?

We made it back down, safe and sound.  We made one more stop... more about that later.  I think Lunette had a really fun time :)
